Mary Brannon for Congress OK CD4

The Oklahoma Democratic Veterans Federation strongly supports the election of Mary Brannon to the US House of Representatives from Congressional District 4. Her father landed at Normandy with the US Army, her older brother served two tours in Viet Nam as a US Marine, and her younger brother was a US Air Force officer during Desert Storm. As her brother Roger died a painful death, eaten alive by Agent Orange, Mary Brannon promised him that she would always fight for the nation to honor its deep debt to those who serve, and especially to block privatization of Veteran care.

Mary is adamantly opposed to Republican efforts to privatize services to Veterans and military families. She knows what happened when military housing at Tinker Air Force Base was privatized. Results included toxic mold, insect infestations, water leaks, burst pipes, disturbed asbestos tiles and long wait times for repairs. The private company pled guilty to charges of fraud and was fined for unearned bonuses and uncompleted repairs. The same evils, she knows, will accompany privatization of Veterans medical care, measured favored by her opponent, Representative Cole.

When elected to office, Mary Brannon vows to use her voice and vote to keep military care from going private, to keep base housing safe, to assure a livable wage for service members, and to protect reproductive rights. She will oppose renewal of the tax cuts benefiting only the top 2%, support capping prescription drug prices, and defend Social Security (which Tom Cole wants to cut),  Her office will always be open.
