No

My husband of 52 years, Bill Gaddis, was a long-time member of the US Army, attaining the rank of Major. He was active with the Army Reserves and was instrumental in working with the “boat people” (post Vietnam) at Fort Chafee.

As a high school counselor at Memorial High School, I worked closely with Major Felix Duncan and Sergeant-Major Powell, Memorial’s JROTC instructors.

When I was a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Stan Young was my Veterans’ Liaison.

3. What do you consider the most important issues facing veterans and military families?

Availability and affordability of

  1. Healthcare – both physical and mental
  2. Housing
  3. Emplovment

4. In what ways can you be helpful to Veterans and military families if elected to office?

These may of course include policies not specifically directed to those communities. If you are an incumbent include initiatives you have already undertaken.

Directing them to resources related to availability and affordability of healthcare, housing, and employment. For example, I would write bills in which priority would be given to veterans and their families in the three mentioned problem areas if any of those areas were being funded by federal funds.
