1. Have you ever served in the US Armed Forces? If so, what were your branch, rank and years of service? Mention any details you might want voters to know.

I have not served in the armed forces.

2. Do you have connections with veterans or active duty service members, including but not limited to family ties?

My uncle, great uncle and my dad are all veterans of the military. I have numerous extended family members that have also served in the armed forces.

3. What do you consider the most important issues facing veterans and military families?

The most important issues facing veterans are mental health accessibility and treatment for PTSD, addressing the lack of job security, and the high rate of unhoused veterans. For families the most pressing issue I see is education and support of getting services for a veteran and caregiver training for families.

4. In what ways can you be helpful to Veterans and military families if elected to office? These may of course include policies not specifically directed to those communities. If you are an incumbent, include initiatives you have already undertaken.

I am a daughter of a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran.

As an elected official I will uplift and support policies/bills that will streamline healthcare services through the VA or a designated affiliate.

I will also support increasing funding for mental health for veterans.

I will also support job training and programs that will provide job security through partner organizations also streamlined to assist veterans in obtaining employment.

I will support and address the housing issues veterans face with community partners that will assist in placement of a veteran in a house.

Lastly, The VA in OKC and Lawton are in the early stages of implementing a medical foster home program for veterans to stay at home with a caregiver. This program with the support of the VA will assist caregivers and families take care of their loved one that will be multifaceted in addressing healthcare, homelessness, and caregiver burnout. On the state level as a state representative I will support funding for this program.
