1. Are you a veteran of the US Armed Forces? 

No  

2. Do you have connections with veterans or active-duty service members, including but not limited to family ties?  

My father was in the Army and landed at Normandy.  

My older brother served two tours in Vietnam, and was 100% disabled.  

My younger brother was in the Air Force and served in Desert Storm.  

3. What do you consider the most important issues facing veterans and military families?

Republicans want to make the VA private, which will close all the VA hospital. Any time a government agency goes private the cost goes up and the quality goes down. Tinker AFB base housing went private, now endless wait times for maintenance, paint over mold, disturbed Asbestos tiles putting dangerous toxins in the air etc. After many years of abuse, the company got “fined.” If this happens in base housing, can you imagine what will happen if the VA hospitals go private? Plus, you can vote the elected official out for not doing their job, not so, if it is a company.

I will also get the hero soldiers better pay. When they increase the Defense Budget, it goes to companies like Pratt/Whitney or Raytheon (Republican donors), while the hero soldier must get food stamps to finish the month.  

4. In what ways can you be helpful to veterans and military families if elected to office? This may of course include policies not specifically directed to those communities. If you are an incumbent, include relevant measures you have supported in the past.  

• Increase pay to a livable wage.  

• Protect veterans’ health programs from being cut or eliminated. 
  
  

• Protect benefits for widows and widowers.  

• Keep VA from going private.
